Mississippi State wide receiver Jameon Lewis had another touchdown rushing, receiving and passing in the first half of Thursday's 28-22 win against Kentucky.
Lewis had a 19-yard touchdown rushing with 6:34 left in the first quarter and caught a 17-yard scoring pass from quarterback Dak Prescott with 6:14 remaining in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Lewis tossed a 17-yard pass to Prescott for a score. It is the second time this season that Lewis has hooked up with Prescott for a touchdown. The pair also did it for the Bulldogs against Troy.
"It certainly helps us," MSU head coach Dan Mullen said. "He was a high school quarterback and led his team to a state championship so he has that versatility. He's now a football player and an every down player for us. He uses his versatility more."
Mullen still undefeated
against Kentucky
Mullen has not lost to Kentucky as head coach at Mississippi State or as an assistant at Florida.
With Thursday's latest victory, Mullen improved his record to 9-0 against the Wildcats. He is 5-0 with the Bulldogs.
The number that Mullen chose to focus on following the game was the overall record of MSU, which stands at 4-3.
"That's a good position to be in," Mullen said. "We need to finish the season off the right way and move in the right direction that we're going in."
State has defeated Kentucky by scores of 31-24, 24-17, 28-16, 27-14 and 28-22 during Mullen's tenure.
The Bulldogs have now won five-straight games in the series with the Wildcats and have closed the gap in the overall series to one game. Kentucky still holds a 21-20 edge.

Young Bulldogs
get first action
With his appearance in the first quarter for the Bulldogs, tight end Artimus Samuel because the eight true freshman to play this season.
Samuel also made the first catch of his career of 28 yards in the third quarter.
Also, Jamaal Clayborn got his first action at right guard for MSU in the first quarter.
