RIDGELAND – East Webster softball has made quite the name for itself over the last few years.
“You have to be proud of what you are doing,” Lady Wolverines coach Lee Berryhill said. “We played in the South State championship game in slow and were State champions in fast last season. Now we are runners-up in slow this year. A lot of people wish they had that.”
Even after dropping two games to a tough Baldwyn team, East Webster added another notch to its belt as it was State finalists in Class 2A.
“They were pretty solid throughout the lineup, especially right there in the middle,” Berryhill said of Baldwyn. “They got momentum. They got the big hits when we didn’t and they have a lot more speed than we do.”
