Charles William Golden

October 28, 2013

Dr. Charles William Golden died Thursday October 24th from heart complications.  He was born in West Point, MS on October 17, 1932 to Dolly Will Spruill Golden and Charles Wayne Golden.  He grew up in Starkville, MS, received his Ph.D from Mississippi State University and was a lifelong Bulldog fan.  After many years in manufacturing management, he began a new career in teaching and taught Business Statistics at Auburn University Montgomery for 25 years.  Charlie was a lifelong learner and enjoyed many hobbies; he was a talented woodworker, loved to dance and enjoyed gardening.
Charlie is survived by and will be sorely missed by his wife Mary Rolwing Golden, his son Charles William Golden, Jr. (Liliana) of Tustin, CA and his daughter Lori Golden Pedonti (Ronald) of Orlando, FL.  He was a loving and proud grandfather to Kristin Chesnutt, Andy Pedonti, Sasha Golden, Matt Pedonti and Sam Pedonti.
Charlie requested the sharing of memories rather than the shedding of tears.  Services will be at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 followed by a celebration of life at the family home.  Donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or one’s favorite charity.
