The subject of Mississippi State baseball remains very popular.
Even before the Bulldogs made their historic run to the NCAA College World Series championship finals last season, the sport was a hot topic with fans and supporters.
It was the focus once again on Monday when MSU athletic director Scott Stricklin spoke to the Starkville Rotary Club at the Starkville Country Club.
The majority of the questions Stricklin fielded from the audience dealt with baseball and those concerned everything from the status of the program, the potential expansion and Dudy Noble Field's Polk-DeMent Stadium and even the color of the dirt on the infield.
"It's such an important part of our university and we talked about that in Omaha," Stricklin said. "It's part of our DNA and what makes it the best college baseball job in the country."
