Since he was just a young boy, football has been a part of Tripp Janssen’s life.
Flash forward a little over 10 years and Janssen is getting ready to close out that chapter of his life.
“I started football when I was 6,” Janssen said. "I played tackle football in Sturgis, then I lived in Ackerman and went to Ackerman. I came here in 10th grade and that was a fun year with the State championship. Last year was fun with the playoffs, but this year has probably been the best.
“It’s my senior year. I’m just soaking it up. It’s almost over, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love it. Football is my life.”
From the moment Janssen arrived at Starkville Academy, coach Jeff Terrill has been there. Whether it was as a coach or as a mentor, the time Terrill took up with Janssen stands out and as he prepares to leave the Volunteers, Janssen knows he will never forget those moments.
