Wasting youth on over thinking

I had prepared myself for the moment — that horrible moment of horrible truth — for an entire year. Then the moment came, on an October Sunday, right on schedule.

I expected horrible pain, emotional trauma … just some justification for the mass preparation I’d made for the day life as I’d always known it would be no more. In the end, all the dread of imminent doom manifested itself in a way that only a famous line from Macbeth can best describe: “sound and fury signifying nothing.”
