Playoff spot on line when Eupora travels to East Webster

October 31, 2013

East Webster and Eupora play in what some might consider one of the toughest divisions in high school football.
In fact, coach Junior Graham of the Eagles compares it to a certain college football conference.
“For 2A, it is an SEC 2A,” Graham said. “It is all about matchups because each week you are matching up with something different.”
Doug Wilson of East Webster echoes that sentiment as his team knows whole-heartedly how tough the division is. After going 6-0 throughout the non-conference slate, the Wolverines have yet to win a game since entering division competition.
“It has been grueling to say the least,” Wilson said. “We know our opponents very well. They are all very well-coached. It just makes you work harder, but in a sense, it makes you get better as a player and a coach. It is just a testimony to how tough the district is.”
