There's a new banner hanging on the side of the Starkville High School field house with athletes from various sports that says "Fly fast. Sting hard."
That's exactly what the Yellowjackets plan to do on the football field tonight in Vicksburg.
Starkville can clinch the Class 6A, Region 2 championship with a win against the Warren Central Vikings.
Even though the Jackets have won all five games of their region schedule so far, coach Jamie Mitchell understands things can go sour in a hurry if they don't take care of business on the road.
"You feel like what you've done isn't good enough yet to celebrate," Mitchell said. "That's the nature of it. We are 5-0, but right on our heels are Warren Central and Madison Central at 4-1. A win for both of them and a loss for us, then there's a three-way tie and it doesn't look good for us in a three-way tie situation."
