MABEN – Rivalry games take on a life of their own.
Action goes back and forth. Teams get hyped more than with any other game and excitement simply flows throughout.
East Webster and Eupora found themselves engaged in one of those contests and in true rivalry fashion, the game did not disappoint. The Wolverines may have lost 35-18, but the score does not provide an accurate picture of what took place or the heart with which the Wolverines competed.
“This is where they have been all year,” East Webster coach Doug Wilson said. “I am proud of the kids and the way they fought back in the second half. That is just the nature of those kids. They fight. They are not big, but they get after it. It really is a testimony of our kids. They just keep fighting.”
