Coach Rick Ray and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are looking to start off the 2013-14 basketball season on the right foot.
In Ray's first season last year, the Bulldogs lost to Troy 56-53 on the road to start the season.
The Bulldogs play at home to open this season and against a less inferior opponent.
MSU plays the Prairie View A&M Panthers tonight inside at Humphrey Coliseum. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
"Right now we're focused on getting prepared for Prairie View A&M," Ray said when asked about what questions needed to be answered before league play.
MSU enters its 102nd season of basketball and has won eight of its last 11 season openers. The Bulldogs are 78-23 in lid-lifters and have won 22 of the last 28 dating back to the 1985-86 campaign.
