It was all about the finish this year for Starkville’s cross country teams.
After a long season that saw marked improvement, both teams showed up last Saturday in Clinton and ran what some might consider the race of its lives.
“I don’t think I really expected us to do as well as we did,” Starkville coach Caroline Woomer said. “Everything really came together on race day. Things have come together for one or two of them at a time, but never for the whole team. What happened has to do with experience and now they know what it is like and I expect it to happen more in the future.”
