Harrison County has a new sign to welcome visitors to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, thanks in part to the efforts of a number of Oktibbeha County residents.
The sandblasted redwood sign is 18 feet wide and boasts three pelicans, each of which are three times larger than a life-sized pelican. The sign is part of a larger beach restoration project along a quarter-mile stretch of Highway 90 in Gulfport.
