The Starkville Yellowjackets used a steady run game and stingy defense to do what they had to do at home Friday night.
One of the driving forces in the Yellowjackets 14-7 victory over the Chargers of Grenada was Jacquez Horsley. Having Horsley lined up in the backfield getting tough yards late in the game proved invaluable. He finished the night with 102 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown.
"That is what you get when you get him," SHS coach Jamie Mitchell said. "He was huge all night long for us. (I) thought him, LaDorrious (Pittman) and (Darius) Grayer all three just huge for us all night."
