Lady Jackets pick up 1-0 win

November 17, 2013

Finishing has been an issue for the Starkville High School girls soccer team early this season.
On Saturday, those troubles faded slightly as the Lady Yellowjackets scored a 1-0 victory over Caledonia at the Starkville Sportsplex.
"We have had trouble finishing and this something that has been an Achilles' heel the last couple of years," SHS girls soccer coach Anna Albritton said. "Obviously, we have to work on that."
The Lady Jackets may have only scored one goal, but had plenty of opportunities with 19 shots on goal compared to Caledonia's two. Starkville also has no issue with passing or moving the ball around the field.
"We networked the ball better and I am pleased," Albritton said. "When I say that, we are networking the ball with some young players."
