Picking who will start under center for Mississippi State this season, has been about as likely as picking the right combination of numbers in the lottery.
Sophomore Dak Prescott has drawn the majority of starts for the Bulldogs at quarterback this season.
Prescott suffered what head coach Dan Mullen called a "stinger" in last Saturday's game against Texas A&M.
He wore street clothes in the Bulldogs' 20-7 loss to No. 1 Alabama Saturday night.
"He's day-to-day," Mullen said of Prescott's status. "He could be ready to go 100 percent (today). Hopefully, he's back."
Senior Tyler Russell, who began the season as the starter, got his fourth start of the season in Prescott's absence. He left in the fourth quarter after a shoulder injury and true freshman Damian Williams spelled him.
