For years, teams have found success in football at Starkville High School.
The Yellowjackets were the Class 5A State champions last season. This year they look to repeat that success, but there is one little change. Instead of competing in Class 5A, Starkville is playing up a class in 6A.
The Jackets fought through the first round of the playoffs on Friday night and as usual, coach Jamie Mitchell has his team playing its best football at the end of the year. After defeating a strong Grenada team, it is clear SHS is at home in the new classification.
