Perkins amends proposed resolution - New draft seeks only to ban cell phones

November 19, 2013

Following backlash from a proposed resolution that would have banned electronic device use at Starkville Board of Aldermen meetings, Ward 6 Alderman Roy A. Perkins has diluted his proposal to apply only to cell phones.

Perkins submitted the amended proposal on Monday and removed it from the consent agenda, meaning aldermen will have the opportunity to discuss it during today’s meeting, set to begin at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
