The Starkville High School Yellowjackets have three running backs that like to fly fast and sting hard.
That's the motto for the SHS athletic department and the trio of Jacquez Horsley, LaDorrious Pittman and Darius Grayer are good examples of that on the football field.
The Jackets have used the production from the running game to take momentum from the regular season into the playoffs.
SHS offensive coordinator Preston Leathers likes having a variety of running backs to use.
"Both of those guys are so explosive," Leathers said of Horsley and Pittman. "If they get a crack, they can go score. LaDorrious did an unbelievable job of filling in while Horsley was hurt. They are just two different backs. LaDorrious on the edge is amazing, you get Horsley inside and then you have Radio (Grayer) with his speed. They compliment each other so well."
Horsley is the workhorse for the Jackets with 184 carries for 891 yards and six touchdowns, but Pittman and Grayer have combined for 516 yards on the ground and six more scores.
