County administrator announces retirement

November 27, 2013

After 18 years of service, Oktibbeha County Administrator Don Posey is retiring.

Posey, 71, said he’d grappled with the decision for some time, and finally decided it was time to move on.

“It’s something I’ve been thinking about for two or three years,” Posey said. “I just never could get my mind made up to go ahead and do it. But I realized that, with my age, I probably need to go ahead and, if I’m going to do some things and enjoy a quality of life while I can, it’s time for me to go.”
