French Camp captures first state championship

December 7, 2013

After French Camp claimed the Class A South State championship, Jesse Hosket said he would not celebrate until after the state championship.
Hosket can finally celebrate because on Friday the Panthers defeated Smithville 27-6 to claim the school’s first football State championship.
"It is a great thing to be able to finish up and be able to celebrate," Hosket said. "It is going to be a lot better ride than last time. It is definitely fun to make history. These guys are tough. They were always fighting and we never backed down."
Seeing his team succeed on the field and make history for the French Camp program and even if he never gets to see it again, coach Nathan Wright is satisfied.
