SCOOBA – When it comes to the East Mississippi Community College Lions, most people look and at the stats and see an offensive team.
The Lion defense has been just as good, if not better than the offense this season. The unit has given up just 85 points in 11 games this season with 52 of those points coming in two postseason games.
The defense has pitched five shutouts this season.
"Defense has played solid all year," EMCC head coach Buddy Stephens said, who's defense has given up just five touchdowns this season. "They've really done a great job of being sound and fundamental. In the past, we've been real flashy and brought different blitzes from all over the place. We've lined up and played good quality football."
The pieces are there on defense for the Lions and they have worked together to become the closest thing to perfection one can see.
