Letter to the Editor

December 11, 2013

By David May, Starkville

Sid Salter’s December 8 column well illustrates the dilemma that faces voters. The choice is between a veteran whose long tenure coincides with congressional failure and a candidate whose stance virtually guarantees a divisive result.

We need a statesman who will stand in neutral territory and effectively support the painful changes that are necessary if our country is to fulfill its potential. We will fail if the best we can elect is someone proficient in securing federal grants.
