SSD approves two calendars

The Starkville School District Board of Education addressed a few items during its monthly meeting on Tuesday, including a unique process the district is engaging in to prepare a calendar for the 2014-15 school year.

SSD Superintendent Lewis Holloway said the Mississippi legislature currently has the school year scheduled to begin on the third Monday in August. However, he said there were rumblings that might change during the legislative session that begins in January.
