SMITH COLUMN: MSU looking to get near 10-win mark

December 18, 2013

Smith

The Mississippi State men's basketball team will have a pretty good record by the end of the week if it can finish off a sweep of Sunshine State competition.
It was a start in that direction for the Bulldogs on Tuesday night as they defeated the Florida Atlantic Rattlers 78-65 at Humphrey Coliseum.
MSU takes a 7-2 mark into Thursday night's home game against Florida Gulf Coast, an 8 p.m. tip by the way, and open the Las Vegas Classic on Sunday by playing South Florida.
The Bulldogs certainly need to get as many wins in the non-conference schedule as they can before the rugged Southeastern Conference schedule begins in 2014.
