BOA OKs ditch contract; suspends sanitation dir.

December 18, 2013

Starkville aldermen voted 5-2 Tuesday evening at City Hall to award Percision Construction of Hattiesburg the contract for drainage work at Carver Drive Ditch.

Percision, which submitted the low bid of $677,700 for the project, will install a box culvert on the north side of the channel adjacent to a residential area on Carver Drive, as well as overlay a portion of the sides and bottom of the channel with concrete. The project is meant to help that portion of the channel better handle drainage from significant development upstream, including OCH Regional Medical Center, as well as upgrade the channel to withstand a 100-year flood event.
