The Rice Owls haven't really been on the mind of the Mississippi State Bulldogs in bowl practice until Wednesday.
The MSU coaching staff finally started to put in some gameplan at practice and get the Bulldogs accustomed to the Owls.
For the defensive line, they came out with a good mindset and defensive line coach David Turner noticed.
"It's kind of back to the normal grind, (and) the normal routine," Turner said "Getting ready to work (Wednesday) was the first day of really kind of zeroing in on Rice. I like the guys' attitude. (We) came out and got a good day's work. (It was) great weather, (and a) perfect time to practice and we got some good work done."
The Bulldogs (6-6) will play Conference USA champion Rice (10-3) on New Year's Eve in Memphis, Tenn.Â
