MSU women set for challenge from SELA point guard

December 19, 2013

Savannah Carter never backs down from a challenge.
Mississippi State women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer usually puts Carter, defensively, on the best offensive player from the other team.
Carter and the Bulldogs will see a talented point guard tonight when the Southeastern Louisiana Lions invade Humphrey Coliseum for a 7 p.m. game.
Southeastern Louisiana, which brings a 1-9 record to Starkville, has Elizabeth Styles on the point. She averages 11.5 points, 6.3 assists and 2.8 steals per game.
MSU's Katia May is expected to get the starting assignment against Styles, but Carter will more than likely rotate to her when Jerica James comes into the game at the point.
