It took the Mississippi State Bulldogs a little while to get things back in gear Monday night.
Once the Bulldogs shook off some holiday rust, they showed why they have won 13 out of 14 games so far this season.
MSU went on a 12-0 run to open the second half and ended up defeating the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devilettes 98-58 at Humphrey Coliseum.
It was the final non-conference action for the Bulldogs before opening Southeastern Conference play Thursday at Florida.
After only holding a 40-34 lead at halftime, MSU junior Kendra Grant said the team was challenged by coach Vic Schaefer at halftime.
"Coach said we didn't play with heart and that hit home," Grant said. "We played a lot harder in the second half."
