Blazes damage two local mobile homes

January 3, 2014

Oktibbeha County Emergency Services responded to two mobile home fires in the space of a few hours late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

East Oktibbeha County Fire Department was dispatched at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday to Rayn Lane off Hickory Grove Road, where they limited damage from the first fire of the night to one end of the trailer with assistance from the county’s District 5 Volunteer Fire Department. The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) is investigating the fire, but county fire officials reported in a press release that it appeared to be an electrical fire originating in a bedroom. None of the trailer’s occupants were home, and while a pet dog was present, it was not injured.
