Freeze hits Golden Triangle - Residents feeling severe winter chill

The skies may have been clear and blue in Starkville Monday, but the weather outside was still frightful.

The National Weather Service recorded temperatures below freezing Sunday night through Monday in the Golden Triangle, with lows reaching 18 degrees and wind chills reaching 3 degrees. Ice could be found pooling in gutters, potholes, ponds and fountains.
