SHS boys get easy win over Northwest Rankin

January 11, 2014

A big emphasis for Starkville High School head coach Greg Carter is getting into the lane and getting easy buckets.
His Yellowjackets listened Friday night.
The Jackets did most of their damage in the paint as they went on to beat the Northwest Rankin Cougars 64-32 in the Bee Hive in a Class 6A, Region 3, District 4 matchup.
“We do plan on attacking the basket a lot,” Carter said. “When you attack the basket that way, you get jump shots. We didn’t shoot it quite as well (Friday) as we normally do, but we were able to score in the paint. We got a lot of baskets in the paint and a lot of offensive rebounds.”
