SHS drops matches to Madison Central

January 15, 2014

The Starkville High School soccer teams were not only going against Madison Central Tuesday night, but against history.
Madison Central's program has had the reputation of being strong and that was reflected in its play at Yellowjacket Stadium.
Even though the Lady Jackets lost the girls contest 2-0, coach Anna Albritton could not be prouder of the way her team competed.
“Anytime you play a team like Madison Central, you are playing a really good team because of the history they have,” Albritton said. “It only makes you better as a team to play that caliber of a team, but to go out there and to play them like we did (Tuesday night) with their goals coming off an offsides and a (penalty kick), I couldn’t be happier. Our girls represented Starkville High School extremely well. What can you say besides I was proud of them.”
SHS produced three shots on goal compliments of the Laird sisters, Hannah and Harper, along with Cailee Helen McClain.
