The Mississippi State Bulldogs had their backs up against the wall all afternoon long.
It didn’t seem to affect the Bulldogs though.
MSU overcame a 10-point deficit, its largest in a victory this season, in the second half to knock off the Texas A&M Aggies 81-72 in overtime Saturday afternoon inside Humphrey Coliseum.
“I thought this was a good win for us against a quality ball club,” MSU head coach Rick Ray said. “Texas A&M leads the SEC in field goal percentage defense and also scoring defense. They are also top 15 in the nation in both of those categories, so for us to score 81 points against them, it speaks well of what our team did offensively.”
The Bulldogs were led by sophomore guard Craig Sword’s 23 points. It is the fourth time this season the Montgomery, Ala., native has scored 20 or more points.
