Ole Miss point guard Valencia McFarland has been a thorn in the side of the Mississippi State Bulldogs for the last couple of seasons.
The Bulldogs meet McFarland and the Rebels once again in Oxford tonight.
Even though Ole Miss has yet to win a Southeastern Conference game in five tries, MSU coach Vic Schaefer said McFarland makes it a very dangerous opponent.
"They are hard to handle because it starts at point and if you can't control (McFarland), you can't control the rest of them," Schaefer said. "That will be a big challenge for us."
McFarland showed how valuable she was to her team against the rivals last season.
In a 72-57 victory by the Bulldogs over the Rebels in Starkville, McFarland was only able to score seven points.
Ole Miss defeated MSU in Oxford behind the 19 points of McFarland.
We need to make sure we take care of Valencia and make sure we control the tempo," Schaefer said. "We've got to have some inside presence because they are a little thin down low."
