SMITH COLUMN: 'Elite' of girls hoops seen in Ackerman

January 26, 2014

Smith

Ackerman is a proud town that loves its athletic competition.
On Saturday, the Choctaw County community was the host of some of the best girls basketball action the state of Mississippi had to offer.
The 2014 Mid-Mississippi Challenge was held at Choctaw County High School and it was a very fine event.
It was my first time to be able to attend the tournament after hearing so many good things. It did not disappoint.
There was good food, good fellowship and especially good basketball.
The motto for the Mid-Mississippi Challenge was "where the elite meet" and that statement certainly seemed to fit.
