In Rick Ray's first two meetings with Florida, things haven't gone well.
The Mississippi State head coach saw his team drop an 82-47 decision in Starkville and an 83-58 game in Gainesville, Fla.
The Bulldogs (13-6, 3-3) look to correct that tonight and win their 400th game in Humphrey Coliseum history when the No. 3 Gators (17-2, 6-0) come calling. Tipoff is set for 6:02 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN2.
"It's going to be hard to get healthy at home against them," Ray said. "They're such a well-coached ball club, such a veteran ball club and they just really play well. We have to be up to the task here against Florida."
The Bulldogs have lost three-straight to the Gators, but haven't lost four-straight in the series since losing 12-straight from 1984-89.
MSU hasn't lost back-to-back games to Florida in the Hump since dropping games in 2001 and 2003.
Under Ray, the Bulldogs are 0-5 against ranked opponents. The last win over a ranked team came on Nov. 18, 2011. MSU beat No. 15 Arizona that day.Â
