SCT to present 'Steel Magnolias'

February 3, 2014

Tickets are on sale today for season ticketholders of the Starkville Community Theatre’s upcoming production of the classic Southern tale, “Steel Magnolias,” set for Feb. 13 - 16 and 18 - 22 at the Playhouse on Main. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and will be on sale for the general public Saturday.

“Steel Magnolias,” a story best known for it’s onscreen adaption of the same name in 1989, is a comedydrama play about the bond among a sometimes sassy and comedic, but always sincere group of Southern women; revealed through candid interactions in the beauty shop at which they regularly gather in northwest Louisiana. The play denotes the intricacies of friendship within the group while following a main storyline involving Shelby, her mother and local social leader M’Lynn, and Shelby’s medical battles.
