A recent trio of late-night fires in abandoned buildings has made some county fire officials concerned that foul play might be afoot.

Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said the concern stems from three fires in the last several weeks — two of which have occurred since the weekend.

Rosenhan said two fires occurred in the Blackjack community — one in an abandoned trailer and the other at an abandoned building that belonged to the Blackjack Water Association.
