Starkville Academy boys win, advance

February 11, 2014

PELAHATCHIE – The Starkville Academy Volunteers extended their season by one more game as they defeated Lamar School 60-41 in their first game of the Class AAA-Division II Tournament on Monday night.
“It was one of our better games,” Starkville Academy coach Mark Alexander said. “The kids were nervous at first which is understandable because you lose and you are done. Our game plan was to get up and down the floor and push the ball on every possession. The strategy worked and it was a good win.”
