Some businesses braving forecast

As Starkville residents braced for the winter weather conditions, local businesses found that sales would be as unpredictable as the forecast. 



Tuesday’s weather forecast called for freezing temperatures, ice and possible snowfall in Starkville, but residents awoke to find the roads relatively safe to travel and there was little to no ice on the ground. In spite of this, Starkville schools, Mississippi State University and many businesses closed their doors in preparation for the ice. However, a few businesses in the area saw an increase in business and sales related to the winter weather advisory.
