Legislature passes school bills

Both chambers of the Mississippi legislature overwhelmingly approved on Thursday newly-amended bills to move forward with the Starkville and Oktibbeha County school districts’ consolidation.

The House voted 115-0 to pass House Bill 833, and the Senate voted 51-0 to pass Senate Bill 2818, both of which include updated language based on some recommendations by the Commission for Starkville Consolidated School District Structure.
