Starkville High School athletic director Dr. Stan Miller and his team began working on some much needed athletic facility improvements one year ago.
On Tuesday night, the bids for those projects were unanimously approved by the school board.
“It has been a full year working with the board with presentations,” Miller said. “We then got together Friday afternoon when we had all the contractors show up. We then opened up the bids. Two of the three did not bid on the specifications so their bids were thrown out, so that left us with three.
"Everything was lined up, we took the bids, we accepted the low bid, but ultimately the board had to approve it. Due to the ice storm last week, there was no board meeting so it was voted on this Tuesday night.”
