MSU improves to 13-0 with 5-0 win over Iowa

February 23, 2014

Wins just keep coming for the Mississippi State softball team.
The Bulldogs produced strong pitching, defense and hitting, bringing their record to 13-0 with a 5-0 victory over Iowa.
“Pitching stays consistent when the defense stays consistent,” MSU coach Vann Stuedeman said. “We had timely hitting and we were able to get another win.”
Saturday's shutout was the fourth straight for MSU, the most for any State team since four by the 2009 squad.
After holding the Hawkeyes scoreless, Sam Lenahan opened the gates with a three-run Bulldog home run, her third straight in a game and her fifth of the season.
