The Starkville High School Lady Yellowjackets let an opportunity to win the Class 6A, Region 3 championship slip through their fingers last Friday night.
Despite dropping a 60-53 decision to Northwest Rankin in the region tournament finals, Starkville's season continues.
The Lady Jackets can extend it a little bit farther tonight if it can defeat Clinton on the road in the first round of the Class 6A North Tournament. The tip is set for 6 p.m.
SHS girls coach Kristie Williams said her team can't replay the Northwest Rankin game. The important thing for the Lady Jackets to do now is focus on doing the best they can against the Lady Arrows.
"We can't worry about the would've, should've, could've from Friday because you can't go back in time," Williams said. "We just look forward to the opportunity we have.
"We know Clinton is going to be tough. They are a top five team so we're going to have to bring our A game in order to compete."
