Preston Brown and Will Cox didn't feel sorry for themselves on a cold afternoon.
The Mississippi State pitchers didn't feel sorry for Mount St. Mary's hitters either.
With the temperatures dropping into the 30s during the game, Brown and Cox performed their craft well and helped the Bulldogs defeat the Mountaineers 10-1 on Wednesday at Dudy Noble Field.
Brown and Cox combined to hurl a three-hitter and had 13 strikeouts for MSU, which improved to 6-4 with its second-straight victory.
Shrugging off the cold weather, Brown got the Bulldogs off to a good start on the mound.
He worked six innings and gave up one run (not earned) on two hits with seven strikeouts and five walks.
"It's fun to pitch in cold weather," Brown said. "You're active, but the hitters get up there and they are the cold ones. You just fill it up and let the defense make good plays.
