LR Nine member speaks at MSU

Many guest speakers ask audiences to keep their phones on silent, but not Ernest Green.

Green was one of the Little Rock Nine, a group of African-American students who enrolled in the formerly all-white Little Rock Central High School in 1957. When Green stepped up to Colvard Student Union’s podium to speak to Mississippi State University students Thursday, he asked students to put their phones on vibrate — but he did not ask them to stop using them while he spoke.
