Jackets scheduled to begin first-ever season today

The time for preparation is over. It's time for the Starkville Yellowjackets to bring back their bows for competition.
With today's 4 p.m. start in Tupelo, Starkville begins its archery program, the newest sport for the Jackets.
"That was the only sport that we did not offer," SHS athletic director stan Miller said. "There are students who are football players, there are students that play baseball players or run track, but there are another group of students that bowl, do archery and so on.
