Bulldogs blank Panthers to cap Classic action

March 2, 2014

Mississippi State entered this week with a .500 record at 4-4.
After six games, the Bulldogs are now 10-4.
The No. 18 Bulldogs capped off the six-win week and four-win weekend with a 9-0 victory over Eastern Illinois Sunday afternoon at Dudy Noble Field in The Diamond Classic presented by Polk's Meat Products.
"We needed this weekend," MSU head coach John Cohen said. "We needed to get back to winning ballgames and getting some confidence."
The Bulldogs beat Mount St. Mary's twice during the midweek and then took two games from both the Panthers (2-10) and the Michigan State Spartans over the weekend.
