Weekend fires sparked from controlled burns

Oktibbeha County volunteer firefighters had to contend with a number of brush fires throughout the county Sunday as brisk winds pushed some controlled burns out of control.

Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said firefighters dealt with six fires, and that they weren’t restricted to just one area.
