Man arrested in burglary

March 4, 2014

A Starkville man is behind bars after police reportedly caught him in the act of stealing a television from a local residence.

Starkville Police Department arrested 20-year-old Brandon Clark Hudson on Monday on suspicion of residential burglary Monday, according to an SPD press release.

The release said witnesses called the department to report “a black male driving a green Honda Civic” was screaming profanities at them.

Upon arrival, an officer found the reported vehicle parked in front of a house in Sherwood Forrest and saw Hudson allegedly leaving the home with a flat-screen television. The release said Hudson tried to flee in his car, but got stuck when he drove into a muddy patch in the yard.

Hudson then reportedly tried to flee on foot, but officers caught him and took him into custody.

Officers booked Hudson into Oktibbeha County Jail. Bond had not been set as of Monday afternoon.

Hudson was already awaiting trial for a prior residential burglary charge in the Starkville area.
